漓江以它秀丽的风光而闻名于世,小东江是漓江的一条汊河道,由北至南纵贯桂林市的东区,全长5.7公里,是桂林市内的一条风景河流。漓江水由三百多年前修建的二江口引水闸引入小东江,该水闸长期以来起着分洪、引水、沟通漓江和小东江的作用。因此说小东江在历史上是桂林市东郊人民进行生产和生活的一条十分重要的河流。只因年久失修,管理不善,人口处被洪水冲毁,致使漓江水不能正常引入。汛期的洪水又带入大量泥沙导致河床逐年淤高,冬季河水断流,加之两岸工业 Lijiang is famous for its beautiful scenery. Xiaodongjiang is a riparian river of the Lijiang River. It runs through the eastern part of Guilin City from north to south with a total length of 5.7 kilometers. It is a scenic river in Guilin. The Lijiang River was introduced into the Xiaodongjiang River by the diversion gate of the Erjiangkou that was built more than 300 years ago. It has long played the role of flood diversion, diversion and communication with Lijiang River and Xiaodongjiang River. Therefore, Xiaodongjiang is historically a very important river for people in the eastern suburbs of Guilin to produce and live. Only because of disrepair and mismanagement, the population was washed away by floods, resulting in the normal introduction of Lijiang River water.
