语言和文化是相辅想承,不可分的,因此学习语言,必然要学习文化。在大学英语教学中,要让学生学好英语,必须要让学生了解英语国家的背景和文化。对英语文化知识的了解,有助于培养学生学习英语的思维能力。鼓励学生学习英美文学知识,一方面能够拓展学生的视野,拓宽学生的知识面,另一方面又能加深他们对其他地区文化的了解,在学习英语的过程中有极大的帮助。因此在大学英语教学中增加一些英美文学的知识,对于学生学习英语具有一定的意义。
Language and culture are complementary and inseparable, so learn the language, it is bound to learn culture. In college English teaching, for students to learn English well, students must understand the background and culture of English-speaking countries. Knowledge of English culture helps to develop students’ ability to think in English. Encouraging students to learn Anglo-American literary knowledge can not only broaden students’ horizons and broaden their knowledge base, but also deepen their understanding of the culture in other regions and greatly help them learn English. Therefore, adding some knowledge of Anglo-American literature in college English teaching has some significance for students to learn English.
