在伟大的无产阶级文化大革命中，我队广大革命职工认真贯彻“抓革命，促生产”的伟大方针，在钻探生产上，自行设计，改制了喷射式反循环接手，扩大了“喷反”钻具的使用范围，摸索了“喷反”钻具钻进的操作方法，解决了硬脆碎地层，软硬互层，岩（矿）心难采，钻孔容易弯曲的技术难关，提高了钻探质量和钻进效率。1973年度全队开动十台钻机，平均台效392米，比1972年提高16％，钻孔合格率为99.56％，平均台年进尺达到三千五百米，比1972年提高了7％，1974年开动9台钻机，平均台效较73年又提高4.3％，台年进尺提高5.7％，钻孔合格率达100％，纯钻进时间高达54％，创造了建队以来的最高历史水平。
