This article describes the experimental results of a transistor amplifier as an intermediate frequency system (4 GHz) amplifier for communications satellites and mainly as a lightweight, compact, and high reliability. Taking into account the vibration and shock, the circuit uses a triple-stripline circuit supported by Teflon at both ends of the dielectric substrate. Use parts for high reliability design purposes. A total gain of 70 decibels (eleven levels), a bandwidth of 3.6 to 4.2 GHz, a gain smoothness of ± 0.8 dB, a noise figure of 7 dB and a total weight of 260 g was obtained. The two-stage amplifier was tested for vibration (max. 40 g, 50-5000 wk, 36 min), impact test (60 g / 12 msec) and thermal vacuum test to confirm that there was no abnormal electrical characteristics. In addition, as a satellite amplifier, reliability has also been studied.
