In the preoperative evaluation of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), invasive methods are necessary if the results of various noninvasive methods can not accurately present the epileptic focus. To examine the epileptiform discharge in the medial temporal lobe, we used a cavernous sinus intubation technique to record cavernous sinus EEG in 6 refractory TLE patients (1 males and 5 females, aged 17 to 50 years, mean age 35 years) .
