百年期待》以1997 香港回归为写作契机,其第一部“历史隧道”以雄伟壮观的铺叙,追慕中华民族的历史之光,以“人是万物的尺度”、“人是万物之本”为主题颂曲,反映出长诗的古典人本主义精神高度。同时,本文在对第二部“炎黄之血”、第三部“百年期待”赞弹之际,指出让气质不同、灵性相异的诗人协力于诗创作是一个失误。诗中结构的交叠、风格的抵牾、华章之下的败笔,尤其是对重大历史事相的南辕北辙的理解,无不证明了“合成诗”实验的失败。
