I. Overview Ballast impedance is one of the most basic parameters of the track circuit. In order to ensure the normal operation of the track circuit equipment, each country has to formulate a ballast impedance parameter standard that is suitable for its actual situation. Ballast impedance parameters of the track circuit depend largely on climate and line conditions. The so-called climatic conditions, refers to clear or rain, rainfall and temperature levels.
