我和我国杰出的戏曲、歌舞、音乐工作者們一起在西欧、南美各国訪問演出的經历,是我回忆起来最愉快的生活的一部分。法国、英国、意大利、巴西、智利、阿根廷等国人民对我国艺术家的热情欢迎的許多动人的場面,至今好像就在我的眼前一样。1955年,我国艺术团在法国演出,巴黎的公众可以说是对京戏入了迷;而1956年,我国艺术家訪問智利,圣地亚哥出現了一片艺术节日的景象。……直到今天,我还記得倫敦的芭蕾舞学生們在欣賞猴王孙悟空的表演的时候,如何纵情地欢笑;直到今天,我还記得蒙得維的亚的戏剧艺术家們对打虎英雄武松的醉态表示出由衷的贊叹;直到今天,我还記得阿姆斯特丹的老华侨如何驕傲地談着祖国艺术团的成就,他的眼睛里如何充滿着喜悅:直到今天,我还記得罗馬的一个飯館里的老服务員一看到我們就高喊“中国万岁”的神情……
My experience of visiting performances in Western and South American countries with my outstanding Chinese opera, song and dance, and musicians is part of the most enjoyable life I have recalled. Many moving scenes warmly welcomed by the Chinese, French, British, Italian, Brazilian, Chilean, and Argentine artists to our artists so far seem to be at my sight. In 1955, our art troupe performed in France. The public in Paris can be said to have become addicted to Beijing opera. In 1956, there was a scene of art festival in San Diego when Chinese artists visited Chile. ... Until today, I still remember how ballet students in London listened indulgently while admiring the performance of the Monkey King Monkey King. Until today, I still remember the drunkenness of the theater artists in Montevideo in the fight against the legendary hero Wu Song I still remember how proud the old Chinese in Amsterdam talked about the achievements of the motherland troupe.
