Theoretically, heavy ions and neutrons produce defects by collision, and they produce the same defects under the same equivalent dose. The damage rate of heavy ions is 105 ~ 107 higher than that of neutrons, and heavy ion irradiation can simulate high dose neutron irradiation. Experiments using heavy ion irradiation simulations have been performed experimentally to study the effects of radiation on irradiation at high doses that are difficult to produce with existing neutron sources. However, there is no experimental evidence to show that heavy ion and neutron-generated defects under the same dose conditions the same.
