剃齿是用来光整未经淬火的齿轮,可以获得2~1级或更高的精度(剃齿通常能使齿轮的精度比剃齿前提高一级);光洁度达。剃齿的生产率比磨齿高,而成本却比磨齿低,因此在大批和大量生产中几乎全以剃齿来代替磨齿了。但是在小批生产中,若配备一台剃齿机供剃齿是不可能的,同时也是不经济的。此外,因一般剃齿机有一定的使用范围,若碰到非正规形状的工件(如大小轮径相差较多的双联齿轮),有时无法加工,须改用其他机床代替。根据这些要求,现在介绍用万能臥式铣床或立式铣床进行剃齿,同样能保证精度,现将加工方法说明如下:
