浩渺广阔的海洋占据地球面积的71%,人类目前只探查了海洋的5%,还有95%人类从未涉足过。一些海洋现象,至今还是不解之谜。不平的海洋常识中,人们会觉得水都是平的,海平面应处在同一海拔高度,但出人意料,海洋这碗水是不平的。如在印度洋中,最低处竟比正常海平面低112米,而横越大西洋,人们所要经历的高度差可能达130米。这其中的原因很复杂,潮汐、重力和海底高度可能只是部分原因。
Vast vast oceans account for 71% of the earth’s surface, humans currently only surveyed 5% of the oceans, and 95% of humankind never got involved. Some ocean phenomena are still puzzling mysteries. Unfair ocean common sense, people will think that the water is flat, the sea level should be at the same altitude, but unexpectedly, this bowl of water is uneven ocean. As in the Indian Ocean, the lowest point is actually 112 meters below normal sea level, and across the Atlantic, people may experience a height difference of 130 meters. The reason for this is complicated, with tides, gravity and seabed heights probably being part of the cause.
