Sodium ferulate (SF) is an effective monomer component extracted from Chinese herbs such as Angelica sinensis and Chuanxiong. It is mainly used for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. In recent years, Wang Hui et al [1,2] demonstrated that SF can antagonize the liver injury induced by acetaminophen and ethanol in mice. This study investigated the effect of SF on acute liver injury induced by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) and D-galactose (D-Gal N) in mice.
