Preoperative assessment of lung cancer staging is an important issue in clinical and radiology. Computed tomography (CT) is of great value in the staging of preoperative lung cancer and provides useful information for preoperative biopsy or surgical resection. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is of value in determining the extent of tumors in some tumor patients. The relative accuracy of CT and MRI in staging of lung cancer was previously limited by the number of cases and methodology.
