In 2005, Beijing’s import and export volume reached 125.6 billion U.S. dollars, of which exports reached 30.9 billion U.S. dollars, up 50.1% over the same period of 2004, ranking the first among the top ten export provinces and cities in the country. In sharp contrast, the contribution of large enterprises exporting hundreds of millions of dollars to export growth was 84%; that of small and medium enterprises exporting less than 15 million U.S. dollars was 8%. Obviously, the contribution of small and medium-sized enterprises’ export growth is obviously smaller than that of large enterprises, and the export of small and medium-sized enterprises is still the key target that needs to be continued to be helped. To this end, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce further intensified its efforts in 2006 by coordinating the inspection, taxation, customs, banking and insurance functions and other functional departments for export-oriented enterprises, especially small and medium-sized export enterprises to create a more harmonious, Convenient economic and trade environment. With the concerted efforts of various departments, a commercial Beijing with an increasingly large scale of trade and an increasingly rational import and export structure is opening up.
