释义(PAPAPHRASING),又称意译,是指用比较简单而又比较容易理解的一些词语或句子重新表达原文或原话。释义在各类、各级英语阅读课教学中起着重要作用。它不仅有助于教师引导学生深刻理解原文和检查学生的阅读理解能力,而且还有助于开发学生的智力和培养学生欣赏文学作品的能力。经常进行释义可以在某种程度上减少学生受母语的干忧,并且能促使学生在释义时尽量用英语进行思维,用简明的语言表达自己的思想,进而过渡到完全用英语思维进行句作,写出规范的英语作文,久而久之形成学生自己简洁、明了的良好写作风格。
Interpretation (PAPAPHRASING), also known as free translation, means to re-express the original or original words with some simple words or sentences that are relatively easy to understand. Interpretation plays an important role in teaching all kinds of English reading classes at all levels. It not only helps teachers to guide students to deeply understand the original text and check students’ reading comprehension ability, but also helps to develop students’ intelligence and cultivates students’ ability to appreciate literary works. Regular paraphrase can reduce students’ worries about mother tongue to a certain extent, and can make students try their best to use English in paraphrase, express their thoughts in concise language, and then transition to complete sentences in English. Out of the norms of English composition, as time passes to form a simple, clear and good writing style.
