马克思恩格斯在唯物史观和剩余价值学说的基础上,指明了社会发展的前进方向和社会主义实现的长期性与艰巨性;在经历了一个从统一性到多样性的认识发展过程之后,指出了不同社会状态实现社会主义的不同历史路径;为了在理论上说明社会主义社会状况,勾勒出了未来社会的一个图景,对未来社会形态的基本轮廓和特征做了多方面的阐述。在社会主义实践全面展开的历史条件下,通过对马克思恩格斯早期和晚期社会主义思想的梳理,再次解读马克思恩格斯的社会主义观,厘清什么是真正的社会主义,一定会对我们的社会主义事业起到非常重要的推动作用。
