During the Devonian period, Guangxi was a land surface sea and was a part of the shallow sea in southern China. It is located near the equator and has a warm climate. It is a good place for the growth and development of various biological species. Brachiopods, especially bivalves, are most common during this period. After decades of research by paleontologists in China, the Middle and Lower Devils brachiopods not only become one of the most studied fossils in the world, but also become one of the most important bases for stratigraphic division and contrast in this period . Through the study of the early and middle Devonian bivalves in Guangxi over the past decade or so, this fossil category once neglected in stratigraphic division
