Preface Photorespiration is the process of oxygen consumption and emission of CO 2 caused by plant light. When the organism breathes light, the CO 2 that is fixed by the initial product of photosynthesis is released again before sugar is formed. According to the predecessor’s determination, the amount of CO 2 released by photorespiration is 3-4 times larger than that of dark respiration, accounting for more than 1/3 of photosynthetic products. Rice is a C3 plant that has a high CO 2 compensation point and RuDP oxygenase and glycolic acid oxidase which are highly active and thus have a high photorespiratory intensity,
