在中国古代传说中,许多重要的发明创造常被归功于一些远古人物——比如黄帝、神农之类,其人的真实性在可考与不可考之间。在这些发明中,历法与“御妇人法”（中国古代男性中心主义的性行为学流派）这两件看起来似乎风马牛不相及的事物,却归到是由同一个人物——容成所发明。 谈到容成的古籍甚多,绝大部份都只谈他的性学,少数几种记载了他发明历法。下面是几则较早期的记载:
In ancient Chinese legends, many important inventions and creations were often attributed to some ancient people - such as the Yellow Emperor and Shennong, whose authenticity can be tested or not. In these inventions, the two seemingly irrelevant things as the Law of the Woman, the gendered school of sexism in ancient Chinese anthropocentrism, belong to the same person - Rongcheng invented. When it comes to Rongcheng's ancient books, most of them only talk about his sexology, and a few records his invention calendar. Here are a few earlier records:
