Phospholipase C (PLC) can hydrolyze diphosphophosphatidyl inositol (PIP2) on the cell membrane into second messenger diacylglycerol and triphosphoryl inositol, which plays an important role in cell-cell signaling and cell proliferation. PLC inhibitors are expected to be effective inhibitors of cell growth and to study the mechanism of signal transduction between cells. The authors comparatively studied the distribution of Sophoraflavesens roots by measuring IC50.
