The Quaternary Research Council of China recently met to discuss preparations for the eleventh International Quaternary Conference to be held in Moscow in August 1982. This session coincides with the fiftieth anniversary of the International Quaternary Federation. The main topics discussed at the conference included six aspects: (1) Quaternary strata; (2) the lithology and genesis of Quaternary sediments; (3) Quaternary fauna and flora fossils; (4) Quaternary paleogeography ; (5) prehistoric man and prehistoric culture; (6) Quaternary sedimentary nature
