加入世界贸易组织前夕,中国的汽车工业再一次牵动了国人的心弦。北汽福田车辆股份有限公司起家才短短五年时间,却实现了令人瞠目的大发展:企业固定资产由576万元,集聚到6.4亿元,资产总额达到17亿元;销售收入由4929万元,增加到22亿元,产销率达99％;生产厂区由1个增加到6个,产品由2个系列扩展到14个系列149个品种;福田公司是北京汽车工业增长最快的企业,福田轻型汽车和农用车的市场占有率遥居全国第一,成为北京汽车行业的排头兵。与汽车工业打了半辈子交道的原机械工业部部长包叙定在福田考察工作时说:福田的发展道路,不仅对北京的汽车工业,而且对全国汽车行业乃至机械行业都有重大启示。

Beiqi Foton Motors Co., Ltd. has only been in the short span of five years, but has achieved remarkable development: the company’s fixed assets from 5.76 million yuan, aggregating to 640 million yuan, total assets of 1.7 billion yuan; sales revenue from 49.29 million Yuan, which has increased to RMB 2.2 billion, has a production and sales rate of 99%; the production plant area has increased from 1 to 6; the product has expanded from 2 series to 14 series and 149 varieties; Foton is the fastest growing company in the automotive industry in Beijing. The market share of Foton’s light vehicles and agricultural vehicles ranks first in the country and has become the vanguard of the Beijing automotive industry. Bao Xuding, former Minister of Machinery Industry, who has dealt with the automotive industry for the rest of his life, said in his inspection work at Futian that the development path of Foton not only has significant implications for the automobile industry in Beijing, but also for the national automobile industry and even the machinery industry.
