理想的翻译是使译语与原语达到形似,意似,神似。然而,正象几何学里理想的圆与方在现实世界中如凤毛麟角一样,在翻译实践中欲达到上述理想,亦可以说是绝无仅有。翻译之难,就在于它可以无限地接近这个理想,却永远无法登上它的顶峰。本文意在从现代语言学的视角,探讨语言因其形式,意义和信息三者之间的复杂关系给翻译带来的各种问题,并借此说明,从原语到译语,变化与损耗在所难免;所谓等值翻译,亦只能相对而言。
The ideal translation is to make the translated words and primitives reach a similar shape, meaning similar, similar to God. However, just as the ideal circle and the square in geometry are as rare as they are in the real world, the fulfillment of these ideals in translation practice can be said to be unique. The difficulty of translation is that it can approach this ideal indefinitely, but can never reach its peak. This article intends to explore the various problems caused by the complex relationship between language and its form, meaning and information from the perspective of modern linguistics, and to illustrate that from the primitive to the target language, change and loss Is inevitable; so-called equivalent translation can only be relative.
