The techniques of correction also vary. The teacher can correct the errors himself, or he can have students correct them by themselves. Sometimes students correcting their own mistakes proves to be very effective in teaching.
It is true that error analysis has brought about changes in peoples attitudes towards errors. However, EA has three major conceptual weaknesses that seem to have impeded the potential contributions it might have made to the field.
Imperfect as error analysis is, the study of it and the related theories in L2 learning provide the following implications on the treatment of errors.
