Cellular functions are controlled by networked gene expression.Genome analysis by DNA hybridisation and sequencing has become a highly automated process.Structural analysis provides clues to biochemical functions of unknown proteins,but the individuality of proteins demands highly customised procedures for their expression.Automation of these procedures requires,systems that allow the efficient handling of large numbers of clones representing many different proteins.
