CBOS is a catastrophic emergency associated with high morbidity and mortality.CBOS is the rupture, explosion, disintegration frank or impending, of the carotid arteries, in general, due to different etiologies including: head and neck malignancies, inflammation, infection, post radiation therapy and different kinds of traumatic injuries, both blunt and penetrant and even iatrogenic.The usual management of this condition was, and still is, surgical by ligation or bypass of the carotid arteries.Unfortunately, the surgical management is rather difficult and is ineffective in many instances.
