Aim: Oxytocin (OT) has been known as a hormone synthesized in the paraventricular and supraoptic nuclei in the hypothalamus and released from the posterior pituitary to elicit milk ejection for lactation and uterine contraction during parturition.OT receptor, however, is present in various regions in the central nervous system, such as amygdale, hippocampus, ventral tegmental area, andfrontal cortex.
