We develop an experimental technique that is convenient for both chirality determination and transport measurements of carbon nanotubes, thus providing a way to explore the physical properties of carbon nanotubes with known chiral indices.Using a chemical vapor deposition strategy, ultra-long carbon nanotube arrays with controlled density were grown on home-made micro grids. After removing the unwanted carbon nanotubes by oxygen plasma, we maintained only one carbon nanotube across the trenches on the micro grid. The chiral indices of the carbon nanotube were unambiguously determined by electron diffraction pattern, and the transport properties could be easily measured. This technique can be extended to a variety of experiment on different properties of carbon nanotubes.
