The operation of petroleum drilling needs cooperation between different specialized work groups,in order to finish the operation efficiently and specialty.Based on HLA(High Level Architecture),a distributed simulation system for petroleum drilling was developed.This system gives a man-in-loop simulation environment to operators.Through the analysis of the research objectives of the simulation system,it divided the federation into seven members based on the operation mission and operation rules,and it designed simulation object model(SOM)and federation object model(FOM),at the same time researched the design process of federation,and the design framework of simulation training system based on Virtools and high-level architecture was proposed.Therefore the distributed simulation system for petroleum drilling based on HLA is implemented.
