The seeds of Ziziphus jujuba Mill var.spinosa (Bunge) Hu ex.H.F.Chou (Rhamnaceae,Zizyphi Spinosi Semen,ZSS) are used as a sedative medicine in China [1].In recent research,however,we found that two flavonoids compounds in ZSS,which were spinosin and 6-femloylspinosin respectively,had strong oxidation resistance bioactivity.In this study we developed a new method for separation and purification of spinosin and 6-feruloylspinosin from ZSS.Crude ZSS extracts were prepared by ultrasonic-assisted extraction with defatted ZSS powder in 60% (v/v) ethanol at 50 ℃ for 30 min.After the extract solution was condensed,it was added into a glass chromatography column (35 mm×300 mm) which was packed with SEPABEADS SP825 macroporous resin.The column was washed by distilled water and eluted with 60% (v/v) ethanol at a flow rate of 10 ml/min.
