Objective Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) can cause cognitive dysfunction.Exposure to intermittent hypoxia, such as encountered in OSAHS, is marked by neurodegenerative changes in rat brain. We investigated the change of HIF-1α and apoptosis in rats hippocampal neurons exposed to intermittent hypoxia. The aim is to explore the mechanism of sleep apnea-induced nervous-system injury.
