Electron beams at power levels appropriate for welding are challenging to measure due to their intensity and potentially destructive nature;their physical properties make them more challenging to measure than a similar laser beam.TWI has developed the BeamAssureTM Mk3.1 system to provide an effective research and aerospace production solution for measuring and comparing electron beams.This paper describes the design of the probe,data capture and processing methodologies.
