Tulip bulbs were grown in culture solution in a glasshouse under natural conditions.Plants were divided into three groups.One group of plants was cultivated in solution containing nitrogen with following composition in mg L-1;NO3--N 12.0,NH4+-N 3.0 (+N treatment).Another group was cultivated in nitrogen-free solution (-N treatment).At the sampling day,one group of tulip plants with +N treatment was divided into two sub-groups,and one sub-group was supplied with 1mM methionine sulfoximine (MSX),which is an inhibitor of glutamine synthetase (+MSX treatment).
