The genus Nocardiopsis,which is a widespread group of the phylum Actinobacteria,has received great attention owing to its ecological versatility,pathogenicity and ability to produce a rich array of bioactive metabolites.Before the year of 2000,there are only seven validly published species in this genus.However,now it has expanded to 40 species and two subspecies.And recently,more and more strains of the genus Nocardiopsis have been isolated from saline-alkali soils or deep sea samples by our group and other colleagues in the world,and most of them being strictly halophilic.
