Influence of BN interphase on the flexural properties of C/SiC composites

  Fiber-matrix interface of C/SiC composites prepared via precursor infiltration and pyrolysis was modified by BN interphase on degummed fibers by decomposing borazineand heat-treated BN interphase.Moderate BN coating could increase flexural strength of C/SiC composites to 426MPa, and the composites presented pseudo-ductile fracture behavior.After heat-treatment, BN coating became soft and weakened the interface.
