  In the present work, poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT-PVDF) are prepared through the ozone-mediated process.PVDF/MWCNT-PVDF nanocomposites loaded with different amounts of MWCNT-PVDF are prepared.Functionalization of PVDF increases the compatibility between MWCNTs and PVDF matrix.The mechanical properties of the PVDF/MWCNT-PVDF nanocomposites are studied.MWCNT-PVDF is found to play interesting roles in the PVDF/MWCNT-PVDF nanocomposites.It acts as a reinforcing agent for PVDF nanoeomposites at high loadings, and in contrast as a toughing agent at very low loadings.Moreover, the morphology of the prepared samples is studied using scanning electron microscopy.
