Apple ring rot is one of the three most severe diseases in the apple major production areas of China.The causal pathogens can infect limbs or trigs inducing the wart formation around the lenticel.When plant suffers environmental stress, canker or die-back occurs on infected areas.The pathogens can also infect fruit causing brown spots or lesion with light and dark brown concentric rings around lenticel, which often expend later to the whole fruit.
