Chromatography is a vitally important tool for the pharmaceutical industry, being indispensible for many aspects of drug discovery, development, manufacturing and commercialization.In this presentation we describe how potentially useful new chromatographic technologies are identified, evaluated and implemented using crossfunctional networks of Merck scientists.Recent examples will be presented highlighting the importance of partnering with external vendors and academics to create needed new chromatographic capabilities.Case studies illustratingthe development of improved tools for high throughput HPLC and SFC, online HPLC, and improved chromatographic method development tools will be presented.
