Ganoderic acids (GAs) produced by Ganoderma lucidum have been received great attention due to their multiple charming bioactivity1-5.In this study, four structurally related GAs, i.e., GA-T,GA-Mk, and two deacetylated derivatives of GA-T, 3α,15α-biacetoxy-22-hydroxy-5α-lanosta-7,9(11),24-trien-26-oic acid (GA-T1) and 3α-acetoxy-15α,22-bihydroxy-5α-lanosta-7,9(11),24-trien-26-oic acid (GA-T2), were used to investigate the mechanism of react oxygen species (ROS)-mediated apoptosis induced by GAs on cervical cancer cells HeLa.Results indicate that four GAs (5-40 μM) showed cytotoxic effect to HeLa cells, and exogenous antioxidants (N-acetylcysteine, catalase, and diphenyleneiodonium chloride) pretreatment increased cell viability.
