Protein arginine phosphorylation represents a novel post-translation modification that alters protein function.Protein arginine phosphatase YwlE,a member of the low-molecular weight protein tyrosine phosphatase family,efficiently catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphoarginine protein to fine-tune the cellular processes in Bacillus subtilis.
