Rice is a very important food crop worldwide and also the classical monocotyledonous model organism.A mature rice panicle consists of one rachis (main axis), several primary rachis-branches (prb), several secondary rachis-branches(srb), and more than 100 spikelets on these branches (Ikeda et al.2004).Studying the development process of the rice panicle can not only help us better understand the molecular mechanisms of plant morphogenesis, but also provide a theoretical basis for further molecular design breeding to increase rice yields.
