Aim: Protocatechuic acid (PCA), a phenolic compound, has been reported to exert neuroprotective effects, but its effect on astrocytes has not been studied.The aim of this paper is to investigate whether PCA could protect primary astrocytes against MPP+-induced oxidative stress and apoptosis death.Methods: The viability of ceils was determined by the MTT reduction and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) assay.
