本文在研读古代史籍和《更路簿》文本的基础上,力求探讨海南民间航海针经书《更路簿》中"更"的涵义,并以林鸿锦版本《更路簿》记载的西沙、南沙群岛各岛礁之间的更数为参照,利用经纬度计算岛礁之间的球面距离,估算出《更路簿》中每更的赋值范围为40-50里,即每更计45里较合适.
