LiInO2 photocatalytic materials were prepared by sol-gel method using In(NO3)3·4.5H2O, CH3COOLi·2H2O, deionized water and hexyl alcohol as raw materials.The properties of the samples were studied by XRD, SEM, UV-Vis, N2 absorption-desorption isotherms.The high purity LiInO2 was successfully synthesized at 800℃.The 800℃ sample exhibited the minimum band gap (Eg=3.27 eV) and the largest specific surface area(BET=8.8 m2·g-1) among the samples.The 800 ℃ sample used as an efficient photocatalyst for methylene blue (MB).The results showed that the LiInO2 was able to degrade the MB reached 92%, which was much higher than that of the P25 (40%) within 90 min under Xenon lamp illuminant.Finally, the study firstly confirmed that the degradation mechanisms of LiInO2 was photogenerated hole which was excellent oxidation could efficient degrade MB molecules.
