芳香化酶(aromatase;CYP19A1)是体内介导雌激素合成的关键酶,它以雄激素为底物催化合成雌激素.芳香化酶在多个组织中表达,虽然其蛋白质编码区一致,但在不同组织中使用的启动子并不相同,因此,芳香化酶在不同组织中的表达调控机制具有差异1.虽然目前临床上已经开发出芳香化酶抑制剂(anastrozole、letrozole和exemstane),用于治疗雌激素依赖的乳腺癌,其疗效优于目前常用的雌激素受体抑制剂如他莫西芬.
