The process of reduction roasting-ammonia leaching-solvent extractionelectrowinning is adopted to extract nickel and cobalt from low grade nickeliferous laterite ore.The reduction roasting experimental tests are chiefly introduced, in which coal is used as a reducing agent. The optimum process conditions are confirmed as follows: the mass fraction of reducing agent to the ore is 10%; roasting time is 120min; roasting temperature is 750-800℃; concentration ratio of NH3 and CO2 is 90g/L∶60g/L; the ratio of liquid and solid is 4∶1(mL/g); leaching temperature is 40℃; leaching time is 120min.Under the integrated conditions, leaching rate of Ni and Co are 86.25% and 60.84% respectively. The results show that not only nickel and cobalt can be effectively reclaimed, but also leaching agent can be recycled at room temperature and normal pressure in ammonia leaching processes.Consequently, the process will have a good prospect for development.
