Background: Protein phosphorylationis one of the most important and essential post-translational modifications (PTMs).It plays a crucial role in a wide range of cellular processes such as metabolism and signal transduction.Although nearly 5 phosphorylation predictors for plants have been developed, they all lack the exact protein kinase (PK) information for the given phosphorylation sites (p-sites).So currently, our understanding of site-specific kinase-substrate phosphorylation networks (KSPNs) remains still very limited.
