Polyethylene glycol(PEG)was used to meet the demand for weaving of polysaccharide fibers isolated from the traditional Chinese herb,Bletilla striata through wet spinning at room temperature using ethanol as a coagulant. The hybrid fibers were subjected to detailed analysis by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),micro-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(Micro-FTIR).FTIR demonstrated that the concentration of the hydroxyl groups of the hybrid fibers was added with the increasing PEG concentration.
