Rhodococcus members are ideal candidates for bioremediation at contaminated sites.Several factors such as hydrocarbon catabolic genes,tolerance to water miscible and immiscible solvents are effective for these abilities.Purpose of Study:This study was focused On the detection of growth and enzyme activity for a new Rhodococcus sp.isolated from Malaysia R.ruber UKMP-SM was isolated from oil contaminated soil and has the ability to grow on toluene and biphenyl as sole carbon and energy source.
