  Brassinosteroids (BRs), the sixth class of plant hormones, play essential role on cell elongation and division and many other physiological functions of plants.The concentration of BRs in plant is extremely low, which is at the level of ng/g fresh weight.In order to localize trace BRs and better understand their molecular mechanisms in plant, sensitive and accurate methods are highly desired to be developed.Different approaches have been applied on the detection and identification of BRs, such as GC-MS, LC-UV and LC-MS et al, which offer limited sensitivities for the real plant sample detection.In this work, a rapid and sensitive detection method of three BRs has been established based on the UPLC-QQQ MS and a novel derivatization approach.
